Eligibility Criteria

The required qualification differs according to the post.

1. Technical Assistant

Candidates should have one of the following:

• First Class B.E./B.Tech./MCA in the relevant subject from a recognized University/Institute, or
• First Class Diploma in Engineering in the relevant field with excellent academic record, or
• First Class Bachelor’s Degree in Science, or
• Master’s Degree in Science with at least 50% marks or equivalent grade.

2. Junior Engineer – Civil/Electrical

Junior Engineer (Civil)

• First Class B.E./B.Tech. in Civil Engineering, or
• First Class Diploma in Civil Engineering with excellent academic record.

Junior Engineer (Electrical)

• First Class B.E./B.Tech. in Electrical Engineering, or
• First Class Diploma in Electrical Engineering with excellent academic record.

3. Library & Information Assistant

Candidates should have:

• First Class Bachelor’s Degree in Science/Arts/Commerce from a recognized University/Institute, and
• Bachelor’s Degree in Library and Information Science.

Desirable: Post Graduate Diploma in Library Automation and Networking, PGDCA or equivalent qualification.

4. SAS Assistant

Candidates should have:

• First Class Bachelor’s Degree in Physical Education from a recognized University/Institution.

Candidates should also have a strong record of participation in sports, drama, music, films, painting, photography, journalism/event management or other student/event management activities during college/university studies.

5. Pharmacist

Candidates should have:

• 10+2 in Science with PCB/PCM subjects from a recognized Board/University, and
• Two-year Diploma in Pharmacy with First Class from an institution recognized by the Pharmacy Council of India, with minimum two years’ experience in a recognized hospital/pharmacy,

OR

• Bachelor’s Degree in Pharmacy (B.Pharm).

The candidate must also be registered as a Pharmacist under the Pharmacy Act, 1948.

6. Senior Technician

One of the following qualifications is required:

• Senior Secondary (10+2) with Science with at least 60% marks, or
• Senior Secondary (10+2) with at least 50% marks plus one-year or higher ITI course in the appropriate trade, or
• Secondary (10th) with at least 60% marks plus two-year ITI Certificate in the appropriate trade, or
• Three-year Diploma in Engineering in the relevant field from a recognized Polytechnic/Institute.

Desirable: Bachelor’s Degree.

7. Technician

One of the following qualifications is required:

• Senior Secondary (10+2) with Science with at least 60% marks, or
• Senior Secondary (10+2) with at least 50% marks plus one-year or higher ITI course in the appropriate trade, or
• Secondary (10th) with at least 60% marks plus two-year ITI Certificate in the appropriate trade, or
• Three-year Diploma in Engineering in the relevant field from a recognized Polytechnic/Institute.

8. Lab Attendant

The notification prescribes the qualification applicable to the Lab Attendant post under the relevant NIT Recruitment Rules.

Age Limit

The age limit varies according to the post.

Age Relaxation

Age relaxation will be available to eligible candidates according to Government of India rules.

Departmental Candidates

Departmental candidates serving in State/Central Government, PSUs, Autonomous Bodies, Universities and Government Educational Institutions with at least 3 years of continuous service may be eligible for 5 years’ age relaxation, subject to the prescribed conditions and production of NOC.

The notification also provides a one-time age relaxation up to 56 years for eligible non-teaching staff working at NIT Agartala on ad-hoc/temporary/contractual/outsourced basis, subject to the conditions mentioned in the notification.

Selection Process

For these Group-B and Group-C non-teaching posts, the notification states that no interview will be conducted.

Final Merit

Tie-Breaking

If two or more candidates obtain equal marks:

1. Candidate securing higher marks in Part A will receive preference.
2. If the tie continues, the candidate born earlier will be placed higher.
3. If the tie still persists, the matter will be resolved as per the Institute’s prescribed procedure.
